...just dropped in my Gmail!

They must be scraping the bottom of the barrel if they've profiled me as a prospect! 🤣

You've just failed the first test by posting it on the internet. 😂

I asked my son, aged 10, what normal job he’ll do if he doesn’t become a footballer (he won’t). ‘A spy’ he replied 😀

Damn - will someone be round to terminate me!!? Or is it MI5 that does that sort of thing?

Don't want to work in that London anyway! 🙂

You could have had all sorts of fun on a bike from Q branch.

Maybe they’ve seen your username and have you lined up for some covert foreign bakery espionage.

I got that one!  You just need to connect your crypto wallet. Can't believe it's so easy to be a genius super-spy tbh

You think MI6 work in London? That fancy building by the Thames has obviously fooled you too - that's exactly what They want you to think.

They work out of an old office block on the outskirts of Stevenage.

Seems starting salary is only £36k and London based for 3 years - I'm better of sticking with colouring-in! 🙂

It would be a good idea to cut up and dispose of any large duffel bags you have in the house.

Hope I'm not too late and you're all ready bagged up and in the bath.

There may be some sort of connection to Cheltenham as well. A former classmate of mine got a job there.

No, but that reminds me of just how easy it is to annoy somebody who tells you they "have a double first" by saying "Oh, a 2:1?"

Only spies have any sort of bag large enough to hide a body in, never mind corpse-sized duffel bags.

By that reasoning I've got a double second!

I think the only tips you get in espionage are on the ends of umbrellas

I thought it was shoes, retractable tips on shoes. I saw a documentary about it once...

True story - once did some work in a non descript building where we was told, do not under any circumstances go to floors 15 to 17 or you'll be greeted by armed security who won't take kindly to your being there. Can't tell you where obvs

I’ve done work for “FCO” (they weren’t the FCO). Three outstanding memories of my time onsite:

Being accosted by the security guards who had somehow sniffed my 3G card polling a cell tower. I’d put my two phones, camera and all my usb sticks in the lockers at the gatehouse, but forgot to take the card out.

The prefab buildings. The place was full of knackered portakabin. No expense spent.

The old Manor House used as site HQ / mess had a pub in it. Everyone was tipsy after every lunch.

I had a "chat" Nothing came of it. We believe our grandfather may have been spooky, and he had some interesting visitors who were all too keen to hear about learning languages and trekking in politically relevant places.  It has been an interesting exercise to piece together the blank years between 1940 and 1950 as an officer in an unknown regiment.   Clues like a senior role in the invasion of Iceland but what happened in Darjeeling stayed in Darjeeling.

Ended up in true Le Carre tradition as a rather right wing Latin teacher in western England having turned down a big gong.

I did the selection tests for a job with them a good few years ago now. I think they even paid for a hotel as it was an early morning start.
I didn’t get in but it was interesting. They had some current employees come and chat to us. They were all mid fourties’ and all wore sports jackets with leather patches on the elbows!

I think a lot of the work involved listen to soviet radio broadcasts as they were especially interested in people who knew morse code (as I did at the time).
