I'm in the market for a circular saw having borrowed one yesterday and created a list in my head of all the jobs I could do with one!

Borrowed a Bosch but think a Black & Decker is going to strike the balance between power, cut depth, price and spares availability.

Anyone got any top tips of where to buy from? Thinking of using this one www.worldofpower.co.uk.

If it is for use 'around the house', try B&Q,sounds corny but their own brand stuff is more than adequate for general DIY.

Screwfix are always pretty good for power tools.
If you can go to £60, then this one is pretty good:

Check that it is 240v - it isnt clear if it is 110v only at that price.
Free delivery over £50, or collect from a store if you are local.
I've got a Makita, cost me £120ish, and although really smooth when running, for occasional DIY use, I think a £30 saw would suffice. The one above is good quality, far better than the £30 Tesco specials.

Do bear in mind that it is the power tool with which most people injure themselves. Try not to buy too cheap. 🙂

B&Q had an AEG on at half price. Quality bit of kit. I bought the last one from my local but the bigger store had a few left.

Toolstop.com. Bought loads from them, usually about the best prices.

Cheers for the tips, think the Screwfix Worx one is top of the list.

Or as a mate said, "it won't cut you, but it will cut stuff off!"

+1 - I have one of these:

1200w Performance Power

which I got for £20 in a B&Q sale. Granted it isn't great quality - but it's not going to get a huge amount of use anyway so I'm happy enough.

Obviously if you're going to be using it a lot then splash the cash and get Ryobi or better.

second hand i reckon, I have this nice bosch router cost about £300, I wish I'd bought an Elu on ebay for much cheapness.
