Apparently the Chart House a few miles outside Abergavenny on the road to Raglan (the little road not the A40 dual carriageway) does an outstanding breakfast.

Chart House is on the junction where you turn off for Usk.

There used to be a few cracking cafes in Brynmawr not sure if any are still there, if you are heading into Mid Wales from Aber then Brynmawr isnt far out of your way as you can go over Llangynidr moors and pop out just below Bwlch

t1000 forgot to say it is for half a dozen shyte splattered MTBers which may rule out certain more up market and/or pretentious establishments

The Angel is a lovely place but much more afternoon tea than greasy spoon.
