Hi chaps,

Can anyone recommend a budget gaming PC, that'll play 2012 games at a high level with a decent fps?

Cheers

Ricks

I bought the Scan Value G30i in the summer, took off all GPU's and used the built in one. Upped the CPU to i5 3.4GHz. Then added a R9 280x (plus upgraded PSU) 6 months later.

The built in video handled older games surprisingly well. The R9 plays everything on Ultra.

The first part was <£600 including a 22" monitor

Cheers dude,

I've got everything but a base unit, so that's cool.

I was thinking less than £400.... Which may be asking a bit too much, does anyone do decent refurbs?

I bookmarked this from one of the recent ones - presumably if you use it as a template, a little research into which upgrades your excess budget could best be spent on should see you alright.

Sounds like what you need there is a Xbone / PS4. "Budget" and "PC gaming" tend to be mutually exclusive.

Just wait and get a steam box.

Won't run windows or anything though.

This.

Buy a console and a very cheap or s/h desktop. You have up to date games running well and a basic PC for the web and stuff.
It makes a lot more sense.
