Going to Bergen, Norway but will only be there for the day. Any recommendations on things to do? Unfortunately I won't have the bike. Any good whale watching trips or day trips inland from Bergen?

Bergen is at the far end of the fjord, so no whale watching likely. There is a funicular to the overlooking hill which is nice. The old town and harbour is very picturesque. Grieg's house is open to the public if you're into classical music. If the timetable waorks for you, "Norway in a nutshell" is a day trip on trains, bus, and ferry across a fjord. See here:
