Got an Xbox 360 for Xmas with Halo 3. Found that to be quite disappointing compared with my memories of playing the original version a few years ago.
Haven't been into gaming for years so, bring me up to date.
What's hot, what's not.
fallout 3. definitly
And mirrors edge is good, and cheap
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 for shooting. Single player is good but short. The online play will keep you occupied for months.
Forza 3 for driving.
GTA - Best. Game. Ever.
2nd mirror's edge,also the elder scrolls oblivion will last you a long time (it's a huge game,if you like rpg's)i also liked test drive unlimited (you can get it pretty cheap) and lets not forget the orange box.
what mullet said, ace games, al lthe COD series are good bloodletting games and forza or colin mcrae dirt2.
fallout 3 was the biggest pile i have played.
all I can say is Forza3,,,,ENJOY
Assassins Creed II is very good, if you want some fun shooting then Borderlands is pretty good as well but better if you play online.

Since getting my 360 about 1.5 months ago I have been glued to the bugger, mainly playing...
Forza 3: Superb if you like driving games - (I do)
CoD 4 (both MW and MW2): Again, ace, am too crap to play it online though
The Saboteur: Average reviews but I've really enjoyed it, it's a "big" game and takes a bit of thought
Half Life 2: Get "The Orange Box" which is a compilation including HL2 - just get it, it's superb
Have just started Mirrors Edge (an absolute barg on Amazon at < £6) and downloaded Trials HD which is amusingly addictive and highly regarded it seems. HTH!
Work your way down this list:
Gears of War (1 & 2) are great games.
Bioshock is pretty amazing (and Bioshock 2 due very soon).
Just fnished Batman (Arkham) and enjoyed taking out the villians...abandoned Modern Warfare for Batman but will go back to it now...good but don't like the short disjointed missions.
