Going out with step-dad for a walk tomorrow. Kinderscout has been mentioned but I seem to remember this is quite flat at the top and a bit boring once you get there.

Can anyone recommend a walk in the hills or perhaps a website I can download a gpx route from?

I think we will be out for about 4 hours.

Edale > Ringing Roger > Woolpacks > Kinder Downfall > backtrack across Kinder Scout > down Jacobs > Edale is pretty good. Don't follow the crowds and go up the valley, it's quieter and nicer up to Ringing Roger.

Or Fairholmes > Flagstones > Whinstone Lee Tor > Derwent Edge > Lost Lad > back down to Fairholmes is also good.

You'll need to look on a map for either of those obviously, both straightforward to follow though. The Mrs and I did the second one in ± 4 hrs today, it's easy to cut short from Dovestone Tor if you need to.

Cheers for the suggestions. I'll get out the OS map now and size them up.

I'd suggest doing this in reverse tomorrow, otherwise you'll be battling a pretty vicious head wind on the tops. Some bizarre rock formations up at the woolpacks - well worth a look

Cheers for the advice. Just put a route into the GPS so should be good to go tomorrow. Its been a while since I've been out in Edale without a bike!
