Looking for either 8GB or 16GB. Speed would be nice, but not essential - just something for general use. What's recommended?

Sandisk Cruzer, I have had one that lasted over 6 years and my new large capacity one has been going for a good 2. I abuse these so much and cannot destroy them.

look at corsair, they do a lot of computer components such as RAM etc.
