Has anyone got any recommendations for a Maths Exercise book for someone in Year 4?

My daughters Maths is not up to the standard of other subjects so looking to do a little bit extra with her at home. May even wrap it up for Christmas and say Santa bought it for her 😆

Ta.

My wife started our daughter off on mathswizz first, makes it more fun so gets them started with the doing maths problems is fun concept

Cheers will check out those suggestions.

Won’t be an xmas present really, although I reckon Santa may have better persuasive powers over her than me!

BBC do have some online maths stuff.

There is also a junior brain training on the DS (similar products may be available on other platforms) if its all about practice rather than understanding.

I've heard good things from both teachers and pupils about "Mathletics" a pay to use website.

I wouldn't bother with mathletics. Few children think online maths games are fun or cool, so it may be hit-and-miss (maybe not worth the money).

Instead, a few nights a week, go through what she's learned with her. Not only will the revision help what she's learned stick in her mind, but you're spending time together instead of her sitting alone at a computer.

Agree with giantbiker, try not to use a book. Review what she's learning in class and make up problems at home to match (even just changing the numbers will work). Talk about it and get her to talk about what is happening in her head. They don't get enough time to talk in schools so maths isn't absorbed like language is.

I did/do play darts with mine.

A huge variations of games with different scoring systems, you can cover lots of the basics without them even realising.
