Working away from home foreeeeeever so difficult to get to my usual choices of mechanic -  looking for somewhere  capable of doing diagnostics (suspecting something ABS Sensor / module related) close to my digs - so the closer to Forth Ports / Salamander Street the better

Yes Officer. I know I'm driving slowly along Salamander Street. But there's something wrong with my car- honest. Look here's a thread I started twenty minutes ago

🙂

Used to use Dan Tomson on Giles Street but he's retired now. I think the garage is run by his head mechanic now so should still be OK?

Is that the same Dalziel's that used to be in Trafalgar Lane? I was going to recommend them, but discovered that the old garage is flats now (the building always looked like it was about to collapse). Brilliant guys if it is them- I miss watching the wee guy that did the bike MOTs almost fall off every time he tried to get on mine because the rear end was raised and his legs were too wee... then hit the roof every year without fail when he beeped my million decible horn.

Dan Thompsons garage on Giles Street is now called Kerr Automotive. Gary is very good, I have used this garage for 20 years.

I'm too busy working my passage in the docks for any of that nonsense

Salamader street is posh nowadays anyway.

I do remember driving along it as a youth and being showed the wares by a large variety of brasses.

Anyhoo if your stuck try Scott garage at the corner of Milton Rd and Joppa

Or borrow my OBD2 reader.
