My 12 year old plays the drums and has a nice kit we bought him a few years back (premier genista). Bass pedal has always been rubbish, but now he seems to have broken it. We need to replace it, but I dont really know what is good etc.
Would it be better to invest in a pedal that can also be used as a double?
Need it pretty soon, as he now can't play.
Any Advice?
Cheers,
Simone
Bigdog fixed a similar problem for my younger son.
I have some Pearl double pedals (you can also detach them and use it just as a single) , good few years old but are sitting unused, I think they were around £200 new, will part with them for £50 posted if thats any help. The model is Pearl P100TW if you wanted to look them up. If thats not ideal then I will gladly give you any other advice! Dan

No worries, just added my email to my profile
Cheers, Dan
any of the major brands (e.g. Pearl, Premier, Mapex, Yamaha, Tama etc) would be good, but if you want a double pedal you're looking at least twice the price of a single - now there's a surprise!
Dan's Pearl double for £50 sounds like a good deal
As with anything the more you spend the sturdier you get.
I'm slowly getting to grips with my Gibraltar double pedal - for 30+ years my left foot has been used for hi-hat control, now I'm trying to train it to play the off-beats and it doesn't want to be trained 😉

I guess you weren't playing jazz for the last 30 years! 😉
