MegaSack DRAW - 6pm Christmas Eve - LIVE on our YouTube Channel
I realise ye gets what ye pays for, but I need an 8x6 shed and it has to be cheap (under £250). Problem is if you were to pay attention to the reviews of sheds and shed suppliers on the Internet you'd think you were better off building your own out of papier maché and grass cuttings instead.
I'm not demanding top quality at that price - I'll treat the wood and can lay plenty of floor battens - but I do want to avoid the very flimsiest of flimsy tat if possible. It's just for keeping garden tools and stuff in, not bikes.
Anyone able to recommend a supplier and/or a shed manufacturer?
(Re suppliers, I've used Taylors before and they were fine; Shedstore are cheap but have pretty damning reviews.)
I bought mine from Waltons. It is OK.
Go to garden centre with a shed display, see if you can pick up the ex-display sheds after the end of the 'season' - got a lovely new shed coming at the end of Oct this way, half price, free delivery, free installation/new felt etc. I've just to sort out the base and tell them when to deliver.
I'm just building an 11'x8' shed using recycled materials. All structural timbers are 4"x2" or 5"x2" and it's having a slate roof with full guttering and double glazed windows. Will cost far less than £250 and will be far more durable than a cheap bought one.
If you're oop north, I got mine from Pinelap and it's lasting well so far.
I've got a decent 8x6 coming free in the next couple of weeks as we re-do the garden. Decent roof and floor (no chipboard) and will just need a new bit of felt. Based down south if you're interested.

As in you're looking to offload it? Could be interested. I'm on the Hants/Sussex border, how far are you?
Yeah, was planning to put on ebay once I'd dismantled. Am near Reading.
bill, it's a possibility, how much would you want for it?
tricky, that's this one, I assume? Is it rigid/sturdy? From the pictures on their site it looks like the roof has no battens. (And I'm guessing this one is essentially the same but with the different panel construction.)
tricky, that's this one, I assume?
yes, that's the one. For the price i think it's pretty good. It's not completely rock solid but sturdy enough.. i can'[t push it over if that's what you mean? I think it will be more sturdy than the overlap shed because tongue and groove panel are betterer I'm led to believe
I'm not storing expensive bikes in it so not that worried about security. I'm going to be hooking up some ikea LED spot lights in he roof with a car battery for lighting soon.
I certainly wouldn't describe it as flimsy
Good stuff, just the sort of feedback I'm after - thanks. T&G is better... though I'm tempted by this one too, partly because I could build a shelfy greenhousey thing behind the windows but also cos it's a winning price.
Probably looking for 75quid ish. I can dismantle, just need you to collect.
If you're interested I can mail you a photo (email in profile).
