I like IPA style beer, been enjoying Sierra Nevada, Punk IPA and Manchester IPA. Anyone got any recommendations?
Little Creatures - Aussie IPA, and a very good one.
Thornbridge Jaipur - Awesome, classic IPA.
My pint of choice is still Wye Valley HPA (Hereford Pale Ale) abvailable in bottles. But some ugly f****r from north Birmingham introduced me to Innis & Gunn's Oak Aged Beer, and it's pretty damn loverly too. Currently £3 for 2x 330ml at Morrisons.
Friends owns a brewery so i'm a bit biased but try some if you like
http://www.acorn-brewery.co.uk/ or if you ever have misfortune to be in Barnsley try the old no7 as that's his pub
+1 to Jaipur, bottles available in Waitrose I believe if you can't find it in cask.
The best ones don't seem to travel. Leeds best, Leeds pale, Ossett brewery have an array of very good beers as do Wharfebank.
St Peter's IPA is rather nice too. And if you like it, you can brew it yourself
here's one I made earlier:

Wharfebank Tether Blonde is very nice, had some a couple of weeks ago.
I've also brewed my own Pale Ale using a Coopers Australian Pale Ale beer kit, 60g of Cascade Hops (done three ways) and very tasty it is too.
speaking of Cascade, Saltaire Brewery's Cascade Pale Ale is also very nice
Proper job IPA
But some ugly f****r from north Birmingham
ahem
the market town of newcastle under lyme actually chap * wanders off swearing do i sound like a flippin yam yam*
That Double Diamond can looks like something thats been rescued from a shipwreck - I want some.
I'll pick up some of that Jaipur for el classico tomorrow.
Cheers for the quick recommendations!
...also, Thwaites Indus Pale Ale is nice. As is their Wainright. Badger's Hopping Hare. Badger First Gold...
IF you have access to a Booth's supermarket, go. enjoy. If not, move to Cumbria, or Ilkley
And finally, by total contrast, it's not pale by any stretch of the imagination, but you could do worse than some of this:

+1 Jaipur
Marstons Strong Pale Ale

Tazzy that stuff is lethal! I was in Edinburgh last month and went to the brew dog pub, couldn't drink it all night though.
Hardcore IPA in the cellar right now...!
And a TNP. Can't decide when to have it!
@John Drummer - I think there's a Booth's opening in Salford soon, so I'll get on it.
you squire are a lightweightgirlypants who should stick to babycham 😀

Get it down you lad!
has any tried the "sink the biskmark" ?

Sounds good, where can I get it?
Booths have simply the best ale section of any supermarket I've ever been into - they're all getting better but still can't get anywhere near Booths.
Most beer merchants would be pleased to carry a range as big as Booths.
And no, I don't work for them 😉
Tazzy, not yet. Am really hoping to get a bottle or few in the cellar!
Something like TNP cannot be quaffed. Like a serious wine (Have some lovely Mouton Rothschild in there too!) it needs an occasion, a reason.
Back to my Duvel now....
Just checked on their website, it's open for business in lovely Salford 😀
I shall be paying it a visit tomorrow. I've heard their wine selection isn't too shabby either. My mate was saying Booth's makes Waitrose look like Kwik Save. Maybe I'll bump in to Linekar and Lawrenson buying their meal deals.
TNP and Sink The Bismark get a big "meh" from me.
You could try an IPA made just a couple of miles from where it was first brewed:

Of course, if you are a fan of IPAs, you'll know that they're well over 6%, not like some of the imposters you get about shoon't even have the name IPA unless they're at proper long-distance export strenghth.
Good call Fred, had forgotten about that one. A real authentic IPA.
Worth quoting this, from Wiki, as we're talking about strong(er) beers...
The common story that early IPAs were much stronger than other beers of the time, however, is a myth. Moreover, porter shipped to India at the same time survived the voyage, and common claims that Hodgson formulated his beer to survive the trip and that other beers would not survive the trip are probably false. It is clear that by the 1860s, India Pale Ales were widely brewed in England and that they were much more attenuated and highly hopped than porters and many other ales.
It's American IPAs that are the stronger variety, but that's in no way to diminish their loveliness!
This thread is getting bookmarked 😀
Anglo Dutch brewery - Tabatha the Knackered.
Anything by Pictish
Not a fan of IPA but Iove strong beers 🙂

sorry not an IPA but Bath Barnstormer is so delicious I have to consciously avoid buying it every single week.......
Best IPA I've had is still Caledoninan Breweries Deuchar's IPA; their 80 Shilling is also excellent. Williams Brother Gold and Good Times are both very good as are Ossian and Arran Blonde and Sunset. Timothy Tailors Landlord is really nice or Oxford Gold for something a little lighter and easier to get hold of.
Bitter and twisted
St Peters ale
Arran Blonde
