looking at a comapct camera to supplement the slr. any recommendsations. Lumix ones look ok?
Good reviews on the TZ5.
Fuji f100fd
Small, handy, good images and still works even after the dog chewed it, although I did have to replace the screen.
Takes decent quality video as well.
I like the Canon Ixus I just bought - lovely sharp images, great big clear screen. Cost me £120. NO idea what particular model.
I also rate the Panasonic ones, but I am a Canon-user and used to their controls.
My friends in the photography business recommended Lumix to me, saying that the lenses are better than a lot of other brands.
I picked up a Lumix FX37, which I'm very happy with indeed. Nice and compact, very quick from turning on to taking a pic, decent video quality, etc. etc.
Worth a look.
The FX500 is being replaced by the FX550, so £75 cheaper.
