Downfall. All about the 3rd Reich bunker in Berlin during the last few days of Hitler's life. Excellent film.

Yeh, good idea that actually, like a good war film. Ok so any advance on Downfall, as a good war film.

This thread is now for war film recommendations 😆

Pi, Requiem for a Dream, Human Traffic, The Fountain, The Game

None of those are war films, but I started the post before you said that :p

for sitting 'round in a drunken stupor with the lads:

Ski School

'oh yes, I think so.'

So incredibly bad it's beyond ironic and subsequently truly, inanely funny.

After a couple of beers -

Taxi (The original French version, not the terrible remake!). Car chases, gags, great tunes!

Without beers;
La Haine - Stunning French drama in the suburbs of Paris. Stunning.

Shaun of the Dead - Classic in the making

Lawrence of Arabia - If you've never seen it.....Omar Sharif riding out of the heat haze, just glorious.

Finally, don't forget Ferris Bueller's Day Off.....! "It is so choice, if you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up"

(I missed the war films condition)

Apocalypse Now. I've watched it sooo many times, still brilliant every time.
and
+1 for Full Metal Jacket

Think it might have to be either Full metal Jacket or Stalingrad

Both looks great from trailers, thanks.

A nice evenings relaxation after an exam now sorted!
