Most of them are 1.2V, but my lights (Dinnotte) want 1.5V. So what should I buy? As I have 2 sets of said lights I'll need 8 batteries.

there are no rechargeable 1.5V cells 🙁 I'm going for the low self discharge types these days (Sony Eneloop or Panasonic Infinium) as you won't come back to them and find they've half flattened themselves

Well, I use my lights 5 days a week twice a day for about 45mins each time. Ordinary batteries will be expensive, won't they?
Can I use better quality rechargeable ones?

Your Dinotte's are designed to run on 4x 1.2v rechargeables. It won't be a problem.

But they drained the last lot in no time. Time for new batteries?

I'd recommend the vapextech 2700mah ones from component-shop.co.uk - they've always been good for me.

eneloops are amazing. Suspect that the panasonic infiniums will be just as good.
