... was just on the radio advertising "Armed Forces" day.

I actually said "Oh, bugger off you professional cockney irritant and go and get some acting lessons" out loud.

I may be developing an intolerance of actors. Or Ray Winston. Or cockernees.

IGMC now...

I concur. IMHO he was the worst host of HIGNFY for many many many years. Just embarrassing.

Wopster - are you sure its not just that you get slightly uncomfortable with the feelings you get when you see him in his budgie-smugglers?

Couldn't agree more. Saw him on HIGNFY and thought it was Uncle Albert.

A lot of people seem to confuse good acting with shouting

^ This

In The Sweeney he is ridiculous. Totally unbelievable. Not a great film anyway tbh.

He's quality in Sexy Beast. Credit where it's due. Though eclipsed by Ben Kingsley, obviously.

what I can't work it is how he takes himself - does he take himself seriously, or does he realise he's a bit of a gimmick?

+1

Both good performances, Ben Kingsley plays an excellent psycho.

Steady on.

I liked Winstone before he signed-up to sully the memory of the greatest police show of all time.

I don't care for him particularly now, but we all have to earn a living.
