Are they only made in MDF? Wife wants one in the front passageway but they all seem to come in that nice buff envelope type colour? What they like to paint?

They either come painted or primed ready to be painted. MDF is easy to paint, that's one of its selling points.
use a gloss roller where possible to avoid brush marks.
Don't radiator covers stop your radiator from... you know... radiating?
I know a lot of the heat transfer is by convection, which is still possible if your cover is ventilated properly, but doesn't radiation play a part too?
Alfabus, pop round and have a word with my missus will you, I like a nice warm house I don't want a nice warm radiator cover!
Can someone measure their boiler return temperature before and after fitting these please?
