"In those days," said Niki Lauda, who drove for Ferrari in the 1970s, "Ross, because he is English, was the ideal bridge between the Italians, with their spaghetti culture, and Schumacher, with his German efficiency.”

"Now the Italians are running it all. Does it work? It could be chaos. That's the problem," he is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.

Not really, racist is it. He's stating the truth, when the Italians were left to their own devices of running the team they came up short.

Remember the Alboreto/Prost/Mansell years?

Yeah!..but most "racist" statements actually state fact don't they? That's part of the problem!

Couldn't you quantify being called a "brit" being racist by the same standards!

For it to be deemed "racist" it just has to be shown that somebody/anybody involved felt it to be so, I think that's how the Old Bill judge it now. Correct me if I'm wrong RB? The only exception is anti-British sentiment which is fashionable and alot of what could be deemed "anti white" isnt treated as racist because (on the whole) whites dont feel as affected.

What would appear to be a very old joke:

Heaven is a place where:
The lovers are Italian
The cooks are French
The mechanics are German
The police are English
The government is run by the Swiss

Hell is a place where:
The lovers are Swiss
The cooks are English
The mechanics are French
The police are German
The government is run by the Italians

The police are English

I wonder if that's still valid? 🙂
