Insured my car three days ago - paid £110 deposit. Now found much cheaper quote and company 1 want a £40 cancellation fee. Can they do that? Am on hold waiting for supervisor.

Any online legislation I can quote at them? Google has brought some doorstep stuff up but nothing directly relevant. Meanwhile they're getting 10p. a minute off me for listening to Vivaldi.

Depends, the cooling off period doesn't apply if you agree'd it not to (i.e. asked for a service to start right away).
