Item arrived with damage that wasn't listed

Contacted seller.

Seller offers refund.

Do I need more formal agreement of this I.e. an open dispute case?

Should I get my return carriage (about £15) back on top of the cost of the item and original postage costs?

Is he operating as a business? Ignore his seller status, many lie; is he regularly selling new stuff? If so, you are covered by law, he has to refund included shipping, and can either collect the item from you, or pay to have you post it to him. He does not have to wait to have the item back to issue the refund.

With private sellers you just are pretty much stuck with what eBay/PayPal decide, but fight your corner.
