Hey All,

If collecting a won item from eBay whats best re payment? Cash on collection or PP in advance? (From a buyers perspective)

If on collection the item is in worse condition than listed, if the collector does not pay I take it the buyer gets negative feedback?

Simple questions I know but ......

Sellers cant give negative feedback to buyers.
Go with cash and walk if it's not as described, but then lodge an issue with eBay as soon as you get home.

Cash on collection. PP is only there (IMO) to protect the buyer incase the item isn't described, doesn't exist etc. In person you have the opportunity to (a) receive and (b) check its condition to be as advertised.

Ebay/PP want to soak up enough in fees as possible though.

Cheers guys.

So if the buyer arrives and finds the item not to be as described then there is no way the seller can give negative feedback?

What would lodging an issue with eBay achieve regarding buyer protection?

From a buyers perspective if confident of the condition, paying pp does give you the opportunity to pay by credit card and rack up air miles etc.

Nothing, but if you decided against paying for an item and the seller got grumpy, they could lodge a case against you and you could get a warning. If you get in first, their case is diminished.
