Been offered a Philips Plasma 42 TV..
Its protected by HDCPthro the HDMi input so wont play thro my V+ box...
Sound come thro mint but no picture.
A QED Scart RGB to Component Video Adaptor works so been after one cheapist is £71 on the net.
Anyone knows different ?
Or another way round it ANY TV tech heads out there..

Put a wanted ad on the AVforums - someone will have 1 kicking about.
Also look for the JS Tech Scart to Component adaptor.
They fetch about £30 - £40 second hand.

Any particular reason you can't use a fully RGB-wired SCART cable? A really good one will set you back under 30 quid.

Cougar think the signal from scart isnt DIGITAL or not like the RGB cables so needs converting somewhere inbetween..Asked the guys at MAPLINS earlier TUT..
They dont stock them now.When they did they were....£139.99 WOWzers..
Neither RGB nor component video are digital
are you sure the v+ box isn't just outputting at 1080p or something the telly can't recieve? I'd be surprised if its possible to implement hdmi without all the ability to decode it
as for a converter - dumb idea, just run a scart lead. component to scart won't be hd, and won't be as good quality as straight rgb

TV has no scart fella.Its protected by HDCP through the HDMi input !

I haven't got it in front of me right now to check but ...
IIRC a V+ box requires HDCP - certainly for the HD PPV content if not all HD content
I'd look again at the V+ box settings
also worth noting is that the Samsung V+ box outputs RGB via the Scart, not sure about other makes
