I'll do a test at work tomorrow for you, will report back Wednesday afternoon.

Just how often do you use your pull cord?

A ceiling sensor might be more appropriate to replace a pull-cord.

A 'decent' sensor will have a timer function on it so that it stays on whilst motion isn't detected.

Either way, it shouldn't interfer with how you choose to conduct yourself on the pan.

Tried using the Telegraph but it was messy - couldn't get it anywhere near the centre as no matter what I did it kept pulling to the right.

Motion sensors...the room is prob 10' x 4' with the switch at one end. When the light inevitable goes off when on the pan/in the bath, will it sense motion at the opposite end of the room?

CBA with any hassle beyond replacing what's there TBH (ie more wiring or whatever).

Surprised you can move in such a small room. Really does put into perspective my first world problems.
