Got him home at 16.00. Slept since then. Only woke up a couple of times to have a crap. Now asleep again. No doubt saving all his energy to whine all night....

That's either a very plush leather dog bed or he's on the sofa already. You have failed miserably already and he has the upper hand on the first night. Good luck you're going to need it!

Spaniels are bonkers. Just dont start throwing balls for it at a young age or it will be obsessed with things being thrown for the rest of its life. Dont say i dint warn you.

Don't walk him too much until he gets much older as it can bugger up their legs and joints.
