Waited nearly 18months for this little bundle of fun/trouble. There was a missed mating march last year (the bitch is in Scotland, the sire resides in Devon so you can imagine the logistics of getting them together at the right time) then the next time she came into season the breeder broke her wrist the week before so she called that mating off. We could've had a puppy from different breeders but we decided to hold out for this one due to the bloodlines. The bitches mum won best of breed at Crufts the year Rogue (our other 8yr old Ridgie) won his class there. The sire is a Ukrainian import (so bringing fresh blood into the uk's bloodlines and widening the gene pool) Anyway without further a do I give to you Jimanns "The Doctor" aka Rossi

These new puppy threads don't help me! Especially when they look like that ๐Ÿ™‚

Lovely dog!

Our Vizsla puppy had the same 'skin too big' look ๐Ÿ™‚ Grown up to be a bit smaller than a ridgeback though.

Not guilty your honour! They're connected to the F-in-L ๐Ÿ˜†
I'll be glad when we can put him on the floor instead of the rucksack, he weighs a ton already ! Still got a week on Wednesday until we can.

Our Wirehaired Vizsla arrived yesterday, he's already covered the van door in vomit. Can't post a photo as I don't have an account anywhere online that's shareable.

He appears to be teeth with a dog attached. We've called him Barney.

We've had a bit of a worry with young Rossi. Everything had been progressing nicely, socialisation has been going great, he's almost there house training wise but upon getting up off nights yesterday (around 2pm) we noticed he'd started limping slightly. Nothing major, first couple of steps then seemed to be fine. In fact you'd think nothing was wrong with him the way he was playing in the garden so just put it down to something of nothing. But by evening we knew something wasn't right though. The limp was getting worse and if you manipulated his front right shoulder he whimpered slightly ๐Ÿ˜ I left for work and my other half stopped with him downstairs to keep an eye on the little mite. Got in at 6am and his condition had got worse, he couldn't put any weight on it and was in a lot of pain so he's at the vets now. The vet seems to think it's more muscle damage than a break but wants x-rays to be sure ๐Ÿ™

Dammit! Poor little guy.

If it's the shoulder, then it could just be muscle tweaked slightly from playing or falling over. See what the vet says, but give the little fella a fuss from me.

We got 6 weeks free insurance (up to 7.5k) from the Kennel club via the breeder so ok in that regard. Although I'm a bit concerned that when the existing KC cover expires we may have problems if it's an ongoing problem.

Yay finally a puppy I can completely melt at! I remember Ziva having all that extra skin, having said that you can still gather quite a bit!

Got back from picking up the little monster from the vets. He's been x-rayed and the vet says there's no visible brakes so it's looking like it's just muscle damage ๐Ÿ˜€ He's had some pain killers and he's feeling much better. We've just got to watch him like a hawk to stop him getting carried away and damaging himself again so the little mite will be confined to barracks most of the time for the next few days ๐Ÿ˜€

I know crocs and socks is a crime, but flooring your father in law seems excessive

Really cute puppy, makes me want another dog ๐Ÿ™‚

(Guessing)

Young dogs get tired, old dogs get tired, all dogs can get cut feet, etc.

Having the option of carrying one's pooch, opens up, er... options?

Can't speak for others but in our case it's because he's not had his 2nd injection yet so when we take him out and about for socialisation walks (very important at this age) he can't go on the floor yet. We could try and carry him but he's so dam heavy ๐Ÿ™‚
Don't worry, as soon as he's had that injection he'll be on the floor, don't think my back could take much more !

Funny socialisation walk if he's in a bag. We just waited until they'd had all the jabs. To be fair, two German Wirehaired Pointers in a bag would be...er....heavy ๐Ÿ˜€

Socialisation as in getting used to every days things, not with other dogs. We took (carried) our puppy on the train, into cafes, along the high street etc. just to get him used to different environments.
