Village location ideally, with decent beer on tap naturally ๐
Perhaps heading towards the Downs?
Thank you so much!
maybe a bit far but the bell at aldbourne is good. there is a pub at blewbury but I've never been in
Red Lion at Chieveley is quite nice, never had any bad food but have only ever had sandwiches, saw the Tour of Britain go past as well.
some good ones in Dorset, that's well south of Didcot ๐
*spoken as a lager drinker)
Red Lion, Chievley - nice loop from there (to S)
Couple of Pubs in East Ilsley (I park there - not been to pubs) - for loop from there - using Ridgeway (sort of round EIlsley)
Pub in West Ilsley used to be good (*many years ago)
Pub at Upton is handly for a Ridgeway loop (W)- but pub nothing special
http://www.boarsheadardington.co.uk/pub.htm - nice, trendy, expensiveish - on loop for Rway
A little way off, but this is really very pleasant;

Great food, great beer, great service, lovely little village location. Much of the food comes from their own farm, nearby, as well as the wonderful idea of a "Veg surplus swap" - They ask if anyone has any suprplus veg from their gardens, which is swapped for beer! Nice.
the pub at aldworth was what I was thinking of, not aldbourne.
Thank you so much 8) I knew I could rely on STW to come to the rescue!
The Chequers at Aston Tirrold used to be good but I think it went a bit gastro a few years back. That said, you don't say what you're looking for so Gastro might be good!
