I like merino kit but have to say the bamboo ones are every bit as good for less money.
I had some bamboo socks for a bit. They were lovely for the first 2 goes, then lost all elasticity then got holes in.
I bought some merino pants for an expedition. They did the required job of not smelling and being lighter than 5 times as many pairs of cotton pants.

That's pretty much it. I've tried their cotton ones. They're comfy but not quite as comfy as the merino ones.
And no, you dont wear them days on end. Merino may be whiff resistant but it isnt that whiff resistant 😯
Agree they're pricey but what's the point of it all if you cant have the odd little treat every now and then. Got me some long johns too just for good measure 😀
