I remember being taught at school that was a common method of keeping warm in air raid shelters during the war.

Excellent. Like the fact he was using a copy of Plebeian Boat Owner to rest it on as well! Top bodge

On a side note, I have noticed that people using the 🙄 emoticon always turn out to be massive Justin Bieber fans. Weird.

Hmmm.... we have a large office that's often cold, if we use a dozen candles do you think one of these will work?

Other than 'mostly bolleaux', the slightly unpleasant chemicals in cheap candles will be a delight to breathe.

The guy in the video is Dylan Winter.

He is sailing (and filming) anti-clockwise around Britain going inland as far as he can.

It is documented on his website shown at the end of the clip http://www.keepturningleft.co.uk

I find it interesting, but then I am a pleb.

Why is he going anti-clockwise? Why would it make a difference which way he was sailing? Tides? Genuinely intrigued.

Well, I'm sat here at my parents house with a packed up boiler heating the lounge with the same as above.

Not exactly toasty but significantly warmer than without!

Astounding!!!

Why is he going anti-clockwise?

probably a nod to 'the third policeman by Flann O'Brien'
