Is a Garmin 735XT any good?

Mine arrived today. Vivoactive 4 for me and a 3 for Mrs F. I forgot the joys of Garmin though and my 4 refuses to connect to the WiFi, any WiFi and keeps losing connection to my phone. Google tells me I’m not alone. Might be going back before the end of the week.

My 4 arrived today also and hooked up to WiFi no worries. Enjoying the extra functions that have now appeared on Connect having upgraded from my Forerunner 35.

I spoke to Garmin on Tuesday last week, they’re waiting for a batch of the 830’s. They should be shipping at the start of the month (next week fingers crossed)

Got my £50 accessories voucher via email today (Venu and Vivo4 purchases) which I thought I'd have zero chance on the back of a mega discount. Result!

I have both the 920XT and the 735XT, the 735XT looks better than 920XT. I like it on the whole, it has made the 920XT redundant, I have had some iffy HR reads when running but think down to tightness and position of band. I also don't like that it doesn't do elevation gained, I sometimes like to go out and see how much climbing I can do in a power hour.

I am looking at the Fenix 5 or 935XT for the elevation readings and *stealth ad* in the future sell my 920XT and 735XT.

Anybody else bought a Vivoactive 4 and can’t connect to any wireless networks? Loving the watch apart from this one flaw. Want to stick some Spotify playlists on it so I can leave the phone behind. Google is just pointing me to other people with the issue and not ways to fix it.

funkmasterp, I've never used my 4 for music, just set it up there, no issues at all, locked onto my wifi, and now downloading my shazam playlist from spotify.

I have one and it's not much help but mine connected without issue. I just followed the instructions on initial set up and entered the password when asked. Maybe worth going back to factory settings and starting again?

Finally got it to connect to WiFi. Just kept trying and it eventually connected and will now connect every time. It is a great watch and a huge step up from my original vivoactive.

For anyone that thought they had missed this deal and that the blue light card deal expired yesterday... the deal is still active with blue light and expires 31/5/21 now. Just bagged myself a vivoactive 3 for £112

Hmm, still waiting for my 830 and case, no emails.

Tried calling them, but lines closed due to Covid.

Hopefully it's on it's way if other people have started to get theirs.

Has anyone managed to get in touch with Garmin at all?

I’ve been waiting for a few weeks for an 830 (money was taken weeks ago), and on Monday UPS dropped off a sealed empty box! It did at least have the packing note in for the 830!

Anyway..I’ve sent an email, messages on Twitter/FB/Instagram and I’ve heard nothing back. Anyone have any suggestions!? I’d really like the computer but also never had a situation like this!

They're murder just now, comms are horrific, I can understand slow handling due to covid, but comms really shouldn't be affected. They've had my wifes Vivo 4s for 2 weeks now, usual warranty replacement is 2 days door to door.

Drac it has been extended for a year. It was definitely 31/5/20 initially as I had to wait for my blue light card to arrive (or so I thought). I ordered after the hduk thing had finished and it arrived on Monday so I thought I’d missed it again but when I checked it had rolled over for another year. 40% off garmin for a year is pretty good for a fiver.

Does anyone know how much a 530 is with a blue light card? I’m after one for Mrs racer and was wondering if now might be the time for her to get a blue light card.

£172.49.
But. My friend tried to get one for her hubby birthday on my recommendation based on rrp. She couldn’t get one- sold out- using the hduk deal, so the poor fellow is getting an 830 instead which at £240 is below the rrp of the 530.
Looks like they have stock to buy through blue light now though.
520 plus is £150 as well. I have one of these I paid £220 for a year or so ago and it’s a good bit of kit

Thanks for the replies, oldtennisshoes, I owe you for that number! Seems like it's going to be a long, drawn out affair to try and get it sorted..but least I managed to speak to someone.

Voucher code says 'accessories' which is a specific category on the Garmin website but I've not tried it to see if it can be applied to non-accessory stuff. Plan B is a HRM strap that ends up 'For Sale BNIB'.

Yeah I’m thinking a Tempe and maybe a speed sensor.

I’ve just tested it with none accessories and it worked. 😲

That's me just joined the VivoActive 4 club.I think the watch is just on the slightly "too big" side but hoping I'll just get used to it.

Must have just got a batch in, as the wife's replacement 4s arrived today too. Good to see they've not did their usual and sent a 'new refurbished unit' but actually a full new boxed watch.
