My parent's dog doesn't even go on the downs just local public parks with no live stock yet he still got a tick.

Best keep yourselves and pooches checked.

Not just livestock areas, deer too. People locally here getting ticks in their gardens.

Thanks for this reminder zippykona and just to add that parents need to check their children thoroughly when they've been outdoors. There's too many worried parents finding ticks on their little ones and joining the Lyme support group that I belong to and it's imperative that the guidelines are followed.

Found two on my 2 year old so far this year, both from the garden. One we caught when it was on her white tights so easily visible, the second was already buried in the back of her knee! Removed and put in a jar (still crawling around).

Keeping the grass cut quite short now!
