By coincidence I ordered one from Amazon just to check the relative height of 3 floors before planning a tiling job (through all 3 rooms) it does the same job and was £22 delivered. Seems an ok piece of kit for the occasional DIY user.

Is it possible to pre-program in a set amount of wonkiness?
I find DIY jobs are much more satisfying when my Wife points out that an aspect of it 'looks a bit wonky' minutes after I've spend all weekend doing it.

Don't have this model but something similar from Amazon. At this price they're great. I've used it for loads of bits and bobs, tiling centre line and plumb line, checking stair spindles are vertical, picture rail. The list goes on.

You do need the unit at the same height as the line. I mount mine to a step ladder with a clamp. Lots of height adjustment.
I fitted some LED battens at the weekend, getting them all square was a bit of a mission. Can you point this vertically or up at an angle?

I was glad I had a camera tripod kicking around after buying one a while back, in fairness my shelves have been much straighter since, although I put some up at the weekend and just used a tape measure, I should probably retrospectively check how will I did. Nothing has slid from them as yet though.

Technically yes. The gimbal of the laser can be locked so you can just project a line at whatever wonk one wants.
It locks the self-levelling optic.
You only have a set amount of self-levelling available anyway, in that you have to place it somewhere near to level or else the gimbal can't correct enough.
It'll flash if you're too far out.

I don't think my question above was clear. I want to be able to point the lines at say 45% degrees off vertical so I can put laser lines on the ceiling and the wall. I'd use the wall to make sure it's properly vertical and then I know the line on the ceiling is perfectly straight. I have a parkside one that I used at the weekend, it was fine but a lot of faffing. This would help get things straight more easily. Also the parkside one is tricky to see when it's not that dark.
At £22 its cheap enough to take a punt on, i'll give it a whirl and see

So to answer my own question, yes
Picked one up in screwfix earlier, just holding the back of it against the stem face plate and ensured the vertical line was running down the middle of they front tyre (I was a little bit out).
Now can anyone suggest how I can measure my arms to ensure they're both exactly the same length and that my shoulders are 100% parallel after all the knocks that 54 years of living and in particular 15+ years of mountain biking have dished out 🙂

Standard camera mount screw on the bottom of the unit so any cheap camera tripod will do the job.
