I thought this thread was going to be about the next PPI/ diesel-gate/ had-an-accident-at-work compensation free-for-all.

I think it’s about a gritty remake of Last of the Summer Wine.

Wrong part of the north

Stealth edit. Did you just confuse your gritty northern counties?

😀 yep! For some reason I thought Royston was based on a town in Barnsley, then Sheffield, then I just went for north. Last of the Summer Wine was West Yorkshire where I grew up. Always hated it as a kid because it reminded me that the weekend was over.

How does "Time" become "Compo" because of a typo?

Ahem. Last of the Summer Wine was Holme Valley where I grew up. Frustratingly though when we ride down the hills round here on our bikes we don't get the cascading did-a-li-da-did-a-li-da-did-a-li-da music. Some of us do flip over walls and land in a pond though.

Enjoyed Time. Short and sweet by modern standards. Will avoid any specific commentary or spoilers but one cliche and one particular scene should’ve been jettisoned. Other than that a pretty faultless and compelling story.

Aren’t there a / some prison guards on this forum??

Dorset Knob - was that supposed to be a picture of a Planet X / On-One?

Edit - Ah! you fixed it!

For something so miserable, that was very watchable. Who knew the Yorkshire Tea bloke was such a good actor? 🙂

Thought it was esselgruntfuttock. It's got a "g" in it that's for sure 😀

Oh yeah - was quite realistic, once you'd got over him being inside for killing a cyclist. And we all know...

Esselgruntfuttock was a prison officer, I always thought bregante was a copper but I may be wrong.
