£1.69 a pint, good selection in the bigger pubs 😛
Spoons? Pikey, you can tell you're from Redditch 😉
i'm not
Cheap booze in a Wetherspoons.
That's always a good mix. 😳
yea..................
but..................
real alefestivals at spoons always just seem to be a selection of off beers that taste pretty much the same. I'd much rather got to a real pub/festival and drink some beer that actualy tastes ok.
At the local Spoon they have an ale with Maggie T.'s face on the label. But a tastier one was Bear Ass. The barmaid looked at me weirdly when I asked Could I have your Bear Ass when you have a minute?
true thisisnotaspoon, but when your passing on a sunday afternoon it'd be a crime not to pop in
maggies face-iron lady bitter
and Houns, the Redditch real ale fest is in January, coming?
>real alefestivals at spoons always just seem to be a selection of off beers that taste pretty much the same.
Dunno 'bout that, a bunch of us at work go to one nr Trafalgar Square every year, and the beers been fine.
'spoons are very variable. The Woking one I use keep their ales really well and usually have a good range on.
ISTR the Woking has a good range of dodgy clientelle to go with it 😉
Surbiton and Walton seem to be ok for beer too.
FWIW - if you're a CAMRA member you should have a bunch of 'spoon 50p off tokens...officially supposed to be one per visit but the bunch in Lord Moon Of The Mall didn't seem to be sufficiently on the ball to notice (or care), I managed to get throught quite a few on thursday 🙂
is it worth the effort of lifting your feet off the sticky floor and putting up with drinking next to tramps and pensioners?
depends where your local spoons is MMW, Warwick is a laa-de-daa town and undesireables are stopped at the town gate
