I know we all love a winter BBQ on here.
I had this tracked for a price drop via camelcamelcamel:

Why not just cook it on a gas hob in the kitchen?

What's the difference?

Well the BBQ will get to 370C. Not sure I could do that inside without setting off every smoke alarm in the house!

Will it?

They also claim -

cooking surface paired with our 21,000 BTU/hr
WTF is a BTU/hr? 😉

British thermal unit iirc, used to measure energy output from burning gas?

Per hour though? Never seen it used like that? Just trying to sound impressive with "21,000".

A bit of google turns up 1 watt is approximately 3.41214 Btu/h, so that's less than 7kw, hardly massive. I've got a 8.5kw gas ring burner that cost me £25.

Why would I do that?

Surely I would use the oven in the kitchen?

As I don't eat bread anymore that's not really an issue....

Please ignore me I'm just being deliberately belligerent as I am stuck offshore with a possibility of being here for Christmas. 😡

SNAP .

Where you stuck - id almost kill to be offshore rather than stuck on the base. - im here on standby INCASE im neede . The BOPS are pulled and rigs on maintenance for a month - unlikely they will need a completion hand. so ill be here being the same 😀

Although i have been researching building a brick oven in the backie for bread and pizza duties.

Nothing as interesting, inshore UXO clearance work, off the Dutch coast, in and out of port but nowhere to go and a zero tolerance policy alongside as well. It's ****ing freezing as well.

I would rather be over the horizon and not able to see the pub!
