My mate did it a few years ago. His wife threatened to divorce him if he went through with it as she was so worried about it. He did it anyway though and said it was absolutely brutal.

Oops missed this thread. Amazing stuff in that heat!

You can't beat complete physical and mental exhaustion to make you re-evaluate life.

If you can't go fast, go long.

It does look brutal. Why do I want to start running just so I can do something stupid like that? Apparently there's a 100km walk/run organised by Oxfam in the Dales.

My thoughts exactly.

Masochistic maybe but more just a test of endurance and bragging rights than a race as such. IMO

Here we go, 100km in 30 hours on foot: Oxfam 100km challenges.

There's lots of events like that (ultramarathons), mostly a darn sight cheaper than that Oxfam one too.

bugger...is it repeated? I was just reading a book by mike stroud that covered various races including this one (he's the bloke who accompanied ranulph fiennes(sp?) on most of his adventures)

My mate said on the first day, if you needed a $hit you ran off the track/ trail over a sand dune for some privacy.

By day three you were so ****ed you just dropped your pants and squatted down on the trail and did your business. Said he ran past dozens of girls sh1tting their brains out 😆

I promise that I'm not his pimp, even though I keep linking to his site, but Alastair Humphreys did this the other year and has a write-up on his site (the link's not working for me at the moment, but that might just be my dodgy laptop)
