Son has asked for this for Xmas. Office PS4 expert has said it is pants and we should get him Rock Band instead, but this is bloody expensive. Is it really that bad?

Does he want to play online with his mates? He'll need what they have (and the Rivals expansion for online play on RB).
Guitar Hero isn't pants, but Rock Band is better. Having looked at the prices on Amazon I'd find it hard to justify such a price difference though.
