My Son has a PS3 it was an x-mas present 2007 it switched itself off tonight with a game still inside when we switch it on it goe's from red light to yellow then switche's off again is it better to let Sony deal with it or Independant repairer ? any advice welcome thank's

When my sons pS3 wouldn't read discs called em up and they fixed it FOC even though it was bought S/H and had no warranty. They sent courier to collect and it was returned within a week.

There is a known common fault with the lasers, hence they repair them on occasion outside warranty if you are lucky. I wasn't, it cost me £60 to get mine fixed with the same issue as bruneep.

Hi all did'nt think i'd be so lucky Sony want £120 for a rfurbished PS3 with only a 3 months Warranty, going to take it to a repair place who say they can repair for £50 if not think we'll be buying a new one with Warranty thanks all
