We will be in touch
My boiler doesn't have type of thermostat fitted, just time controls with TRV's everywhere and water temp control. Its a modern Worcester Bosch Greenstar so does all the clever stuff like running on tick over rather than turning on and off...it just insists on pumping through the towel rail in the bathroom whilst all the TRV's have shut off.
My last house had a 30yr old boiler and we replaced the mechanical stat with a Honeywell 907 which worked brilliantly.
Is there a programmer that will replace the mechanical timer on the boiler with a new unit and allow the programmer itself to be located in another room? It can be wired or wireless.
The Worcester ones are £150 for any type of mechanical/programmable stat where the stat is located away from the boiler 🙁
Finally, if I want to disable a TRV I can just remove the head I think? This will just leave it fully open like a standard valve?
Thanks
just looking into this for our new place which is set up the same but oil.
You should be able to find the manual for older boilers on the WB site (it can be a struggle) and it should show you how to wire up a thermostat in addition to the timer controls if it is possible.
Wired stats are dirt cheap but it may be easier to get a wireless one.
Or just replace the existing timer with something like the Honeywell 927 which I have in my flat is is great.
As for TRVs - I believe so which is a relief.
Yeh last engineer showed me how to wire it up (if I can remember) was just hoping for sake of neatness to be able to blank off or replace the timer dial rather than leaving it in situ and unplugged.
