Having now resolved an annoying WiFi disconnect/reconnect issue on my youngest's PC, I'd like to unplug the Ethernet cable, but not before I've fully tested the WiFi reliability.
Does anyone know a program I can use to time how long the WiFi connection is active. I've tried using the Connection Status box, but as it failed to spot I inadvertently reset the router whilst doing some other work on my PC (so connection would have been lost), that obviously won't work.
Try something along the lines of...
ping 192.168.x.x -t > filename.txt.
Where x.x is your router address. ....I think there's also a way to add a time stamp to the log file ?
( ...not done any of this stuff in years, so may be a bit rusty)

Thanks guys.
Chris, the ping -t seems just the ticket.

You need to download fping for timestamps.
