Anyone else wish they could kick the **** out of their production manager because he's a plonker? My pro manager adopts the same attitude with every situation. If you don't like it you know where the door is. Good management skills no? Can find him most mornings punching lumps out of his printer for not working too. Stress related perhaps?

My first job was working in the back office of a factory, the production manager there was a PITA but tbh I think it's a pretty stressful job. He was held to account for targets and constantly battling with shop floor people taking the piss, it wasn't his fault they were paid a crap wage so had no motivation.

Other than talking to his superior(s), who might also have the same attitude as him anyway, not really sure there's much you can do about it.
As a production manager, I'd sat the worst thing is those who know what to do, have all the ability to do it and then don't want to or see it as someone else's problem. If they don't want to work, they can always f off..
That and printers obviously
I don't like it atlaz this job isn't challenging enough for me. I'm only young so have a lot of options really but the fire service is where my life leads. Has been in my family for over 100 years but I just can't deal with idiots like this guy making bad decisions.

My brother used to work for an advertising agency that was sliding down the pan. After a spate of surprise redundancies the rest of the remaining team were gathered for a reassuring pep talk from the boss. It wasn't very good. At the end, when the boss thought he was saying was 'if you've any worries at all, my door is always open' what was actually coming out of his mouth (with soft caring voice and furrowed concerned face) was 'if you've any worries at all, you know where the door is'.
One year in the middle of the dotcom crash, I was told by the director responsible for my part of a company I worked for what my Christmas bonus was "The bonus is you have a job, we've laid off half your team". Seemed fair enough to me.

But this is the problem atlaz they have employed a prat with a very dismissive attitude. Guys in this place haven't had a payrise in 8 years and this guy talks to them like idiots but no-one can leave as there's no-where to go. He just tells everyone if a problem arises if they don't like dealing with him **** off or go higher management. The guys an idiot and just bugged me today so having a moan and a quick 10 mile roadie blast after work :).
