Prince Andrew, what...

Prince Andrew, what a cowardly little ****.

This is why hereditary titles and power are a disgusting concept full stop. Nothing about this toerag is special. The only reason he has had the life he has, done the things he's done and believe he's entitled to have done them, is who popped him out.

It's an affront to decency, fairness and common sense.

He's hardly going to be living in penury, though, is he?

And not many 'alleged' offenders have a Mumsy who can find a spare £12m to pay off their 'alleged' victims either.

This is why the French got it right 200+ years ago, with the liberal use of Madame Guillotine at Place de la Concorde.  Get rid of all the sponging ****ers.

Why does this forum not have a like button?

However desirable it would be to get rid of the German inbreds (in a slightly more civilised manner) its not likely to happen when the majority of our fellow citizens seem to have been brainwashed into a serf mentality.

It does. I think you might have to pay for it though.

Oddly, this is why I'd be quite disappointed if Andy disappears. Personally I'd have liked him up there on the balcony with in his fake uniform with all his shiny fake medals just as a regular reminder to the hard of thinking that sycophantic worship of the house in Saxe-Coburg-Gotha Windsor is a bit ikky.

Meanwhile in America....

That's the point this episode should be highlighting. "Oh they work so hard, they do so much good for the country, they bring everyone together..." That's why they're in the job is it? So I'm fine with him being in the news, (tho he is the one royal that everyone agrees about...)

now only only able to use his remaining title Ponce Andrew

Only by agreement. He formally still holds all his other titles as that requires legislation to remove them. It’s little more than a shallow pr stunt. As for income I’m sure his brother can ask his dubious friends for more paper bags of cash to fund him.

As will all things that relate to this family it’s just smoke and mirrors whilst they get ever richer

Indeed. The bit that surprises me though is that she didn’t have sex with anyone else at these parties. Given their reputation and her claims of being virtually a slave to do as she was told I’m amazed that no one else is mentioned in the media storm

She named many men as having taken advantage of her. Most are now dead. AFAIK no others were British.

Strange that you've not been following USA media coverage? In the past there has been plenty of coverage of the others she identified over there. Some of those she accused she later said she may have been mistaken about... so they're no longer news... a few took their own lives. I suppose because Windsor was both easily identifiable (by her when she was a teen) and still alive (more's the pity)... pair that with being very high profile both here and in the USA... and he's still getting attention. That attention is probably much higher because of his obvious attempts at covering his tracks. His abuses of his position are a big part of the story, especially over here where whether he should lose his position (of course he should) is the news story.

More generally, Epstein and Maxwell's other connections and "play buddies" in the USA are still very much news worthy over there.

I see Pizza Hut are closing a large number of stores.  However the Woking branch isn't on the list.

His abuses of his position

That’s just standard practice for the royal family. I’m sure the security service and his protection officers from the met knew what was going on. I suspect the whole of the rf knew especially the queen and Charles but neither seemed bothered until it became a pr issue for them

That’s just standard practice for the royal family.

It became more or less standard practice for several MPs too. Boris (when he was Foreign Secretary) gave his security the slip and buggered off to a party held by Evgeny Lebedev at his villa in Italy.

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/jul/26/boris-johnson-security-evgeny-lebedev-perugia-party

That royal sense of entitlement. Do what you want, when you want - damage limitation and reputation comes afterwards.

I saw that earlier and thought the the same thing, but then I couldn't remember whether it was there or Pizza Express he wasn't sweating in.

The papers are saying that "the firm" is looking for a new home for the disgraced prince.  They've got a lot of palaces and houses,  none of which fit the bill.

Surely they haven't overlooked Dartmoor?  The prison has been empty for years and we're still paying for it.

Well.....

I spent some time in the same naval air squadron as our beloved prince. We actually had digs in the same wardroom. I had a tiny little room on one side of the building and he had the whole wing of one floor on the other. Only he didn't, because he never actually came to work. Not once in the whole 6 months I was based there. Wasn't on a ship or owt - just couldn't be arsed to come to work.

The RN moved out a long time ago but for reasons (planning bla bla, developers going bankrupt bla bla, asbestos being rife through the whole thing bla bla bla) it's still there. A bit draftier than it used to be mind. He could make up for lost time and wasted tax payers money back in the day and move in now. Hell, I reckon we could be generous and he could have the whole building. I mean, who wouldn't want to live in Portland?

Anyone else bemused at monarchists wanting him to be disinherited (or whatever having his titles and priveldiges removed is called)? If you actaully belive in that institution, and it's premise (inheritance) how are you then able to pick, choose and depose them? Surely it's an ellection at that point, albeit in the opinion sections of the newspapers rather than the ballot box?

It’s being wildly reported that Qatar think he is such a good egg and decent chap they are offering him a palace. It seems they like buying the west, plane for trump, bags of cash for Charles and now a home for andrew

Andrew’s new home option

I could get behind the idea of people writing "Prince nonce" on roundabouts rather than flags.

The prison is in the suitably named 'Princetown' I guess- slap bang at the heart of the Dutchy Of Cornwall - but given how much money and  effort Charlies trust has poured into trying to revive the towns fortunes over the years I doubt he wants to blight the place again

If it was suitably named, wouldn't it be Noncetown?

It's been interesting to observe this whole sorry saga that has come to light since I spent 4 hours (plus) with him in a four ball golf round (I was caddying - not for him) over at Swinley Forest Golf Club.

Is the Mountbatten thing some arisocratic flex or did he always have that in a string of posh names?

One doesn’t absolve oneself of absolutely all arisocratic heritage.

Seeya ya creepy git.

Mountbatten is the family name. It was previously Battenburg but it was thought prudent to camouflage the German connection last century.

Ouch that's gonna sting...

However, while we all celebrate, I keep thinking there must be many Epstein associates who have done similar things who have got off Scott free.

That's not meant as sympathy for Andrew in any way - more that it's a hollow victory.
