Set up.

2 PC's in office connected to router. This router has an ethernet plug plugged into it.

Then ethernet plug number 2 is in the house, which is detected and set up.

Ethernet plug number 3 has been plugged in, but it cannot be detected or found.

Any ideas please?

I did think that, but I am 99.9% sure its all on the same circuit.

Swap them over to confirm one is not faulty.
Check the Cat 5 cable and port as well.
Change them around on the router ports to rule out fault cable/port at that end also.
Are the ports on your router all the same?

My comtrend adaptoer are paired - factory reset, each pair has the same AES encryption key.

Adding adapters #2 + #3, I had to copy the key from the master plug into the new slaves to make them work.

Our house has been extended two or three times and powerplugs cannot connect between the office and an original part of the house. I've assuming this is to do with the circuits being separate.
I'd say that's your problem and if so you'll have to go wireless.

as said above - swap working #2 and new #3 over and see what happens.

Right, I have tried all of the above posts and it would appear that the following seems to be the problem.

Only half (one side of the house) seems to work with the ethernet plugs, the other half seems to constantly connect & drop all the time, whilst the ethernet software is scanning for new plugs.

So I guess the answer is to plug the ethernet plug into the 'good' side of the house, then just add a wireless router to the plug, then add a wireless adapter tho the office PC.

A strange issue....
