Do you get to take your own mail home with you, or does someone else deliver it?

It depends if you live in the same delivery area as you work obviously. But when I was a postie this was a convenient way of intercepting anything I didn't want my wife to see. Otherwise you just let your collague deliver it cos you're already carrying enough sh1t about for your own round...

My dad used to be a postman, retired now.
A while back, a friend on holiday sent me a postcard, but didn't have my address. So he sent it to,
[my name]
His Dad's A Postman
Accrington
England
... it made it to my house without any noticable delays. We were suitably impressed.
