I've been trying to put some music onto my new Moto 4G from my new PC...

I've followed the instructions and downloaded some CD's onto Windows Media Player.
I've then connected my phone and done the drag and drop thing.
All good so far.
However some of the music shows up and works on the music player but some doesn't.
When I look on My Files they are showing on the SD card but not in the music player?

Is it a simple case of the CD's are too old for the phone to know what to do with or am I missing something?

No, CDs are CDs and have been the same forever.

Is it certain albums? ARe they all on the SD card? Perhaps your player is only looking on the card and not on the phone's memory?

Yep all on the SD card.
Some show and work on the player and others don't.
When the phones connected to the PC I can click on any of the albums and they'll play via the PC.

Yeah, grab Poweramp.

I've seen some players that only poll the directory periodically. Does a reboot make them appear?

I've tried a different music player app.
This showed the albums but would not allow me to play them.
I wander if it's a copyright thing?

I've also tried 3 different SD cards.

I'll give the Poweramp app a shot.

Thanks all so far.

Ok Poweramp seems to play everything.

Cheers Cougar.

Now does anyone know of another player that might work that I can get for free?

I've tried about 20 different music player apps and none of them recognise all of my music apart from Poweramp.
Any idea why and what I can do to get round it?

Any idea why

Because Poweramp is ace.

and what I can do to get round it?

Umm... buy Poweramp? Radical I know. Or just use the free version I suppose.

You've stumped up £200 for a handset and are balking at the price of a pint for an app which would have saved you hours of your life trying 20 different alternatives. Get your hand in your pocket you tightwad. (-:

Ok Ok I take your point. 😆

I'd already paid for it TBH
I was just trying to understand what was going on.
Oh and I wish I could get a pint for two and a half squids.

It's where you end up when you complete Level 41.
