Very sad news indeed - a proper talent and a very intelligent woman.
She'll be missed.

Only a few releases over the last couple of decades, but all worth listening to.

Damn - she was good. Spent ages on you tube watching/listening XraySpex just a few weeks ago - had no idea she was ill. Spex have stood the test of time very well - Warrior/Germ Free/Day Glo have all aged well she was a great shouter.

Saw her perform a few times at the Hope and Anchor, good stuff and loved the sexy saxophonist.

So, so, sad.

Poly (Marion) was a truly iconic figure who was way ahead of her time in identifying consumer culture. I only saw X-Ray Spex once in the 70's but they were fantastic. Still play their album quite a lot and it's stood the test of time.

Oh Bondage, Up Yours, 1234!

Rest in noise Poly.
