No, not another euphamism for the act of self love.
I caught myself polishing an apple on my shirt before I ate it. This must be learnt behaviour but I've never thought to ask my mum why I do it.
Does anyone else do this? Why? Am I a lone weirdo? (I know the answer to the last one, but I meant specifically with regard to apples)
Sometimes I do it. Never known anyone else do it that I hung around. Quite like polishing off the waxy surface you get on them normally.
Polishing your apples = fine
Getting your mum to polish your apples = wrong

My mum doesn't have any apples. Maybe you should ask yours for a little chat?
Maybe the Polish have a polish to polish their apples with?
I don't polish apples, but having worked in a Tesco produce department, i always wash them.
Would it be a Polish polish?
Polish polish to polish Polish Apples?
Polish polishers polish polish apples with polish polishers polish.
And I agree with CaptJon, i've seen plenty of people sneeze over the produce.
