My GF has decided that she wants a new camera as she's fed up using her mobile. She will only use a point and shoot as she won't use anything more complicated.
I know less than **** all about cameras so what would those in the know recommend. I'd prefer waterproof or at least showerproof so I can take it out cycling

For waterproof, check out the Olympus mju range. My wife uses a 1030SW that I sometimes borrow. Decent picture quality and tough as old boots.
