We have a perfectly functioning microbore system (8mm, 22mm to manifold upstairs and separate manifold downstairs.
I can reach manifold easily, but it will be 10-12m run of new pipe under kitchen cabinets to new radiator.
Plan is to add in new 8mm t's just 'upstream' of manifold octopus. Does this sound OK?

Yup providing you come off the manifold or the 22 then it should be fine providing the 22 isn’t at capacity already. Rough guide 13 kw off 22 pipe.
