I'm helping a friend write a job description and person spec for a plumber.
Having had a browse on http://www.plumbingqualifications.co.uk it looks to be a bit of a mine field.

I only know about the bits I've done or am working towards and since Im coming up from the bottom of the barrel I only know the basic stuff but if I were putting a CV together Id want to be able to say I had:
City & Guilds 6089 NVQ2 Plumbing and Heating (or equivalent)
(NVQ3 if you're looking for a senior plumber.)
WRAS certification (Water regs)
and then depending on what he needs the guy to do:
Gas Safe for gas, OFTEC for Oil, HETAS for smokey stuff and MCS for renewables.
